We are delighted to congratulate NICM PhD candidate, Michael de Manincor on his graduation today. Dr de Manincor’s thesis concentrated on the effects of an individualised yoga intervention in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression.

Health research and education is set to blossom under a new collaboration between the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS) and NICM, Westerrn Sydney University. The NICM Western Sydney University - CACMS Centre for Chinese Medicine Research aims to improve health outcomes through the integration of evidence-based Chinese medicine into international healthcare systems.

Early psychosis is associated with nutritional deficiencies, new research from Australia has found, potentially presenting new avenues for improving health among the millions of people affected worldwide. International research led by NICM systematically reviewed evidence examining nutritional deficiencies in people being treated for psychotic disorders for the first time.

Higher Degree Research students with an interest in the fields of mental health and herbal medicine are encouraged to apply for two new scholarships available at NICM. Provided in partnership with the Blackmores Institute, the scholarships will support two PhD students over three years. Applications are open until 26 November 2017.
