NICM is pleased to announce the new appointments to its two primary executive roles. Professor Alan Bensoussan will take up the position of Executive Director and Suzanne Pierce has been appointed NICM General Manager .
The NICM team currently comprises:
Professor Alan Bensoussan – Executive Director
Suzanne Pierce – General Manager
Dimity Pinto – Media and Communications Officer
Natalie McCarthy – Administrative Officer
The Executive Director and General Manager will continue to be advised in the interim by the Consultative Team, comprising Australian leaders in complementary medicine:
Prof Marc Cohen (RMIT, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology)
Prof Stephen Myers (Southern Cross University )
Prof Basil Roufogalis ( University of Sydney )
The Consultative Team will eventually be superceded by the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC), which is currently being formed. If you have an interest in serving on the SAC or External Advisory Board (EAB) – see below, please contact NICM by emailing nicm@uws.edu.au.
In addition to this the NICM management team have been ably supported by the Interim Advisory Panel (IAP). The IAP was established in 2007 to provide advice to the interim management team. The IAP is comprised of individuals with expertise in a variety of areas. This expertise has been invaluable and has assisted NICM during the initial six month development phase. The IAP will be replaced in due course by the NICM External Advisory Board.

NICM established an interim management structure in 2007 to operate during the first six months of operation. The interim management team were given the task of identifying strategic funding options and the most appropriate management and governance structures to ensure long term viability of NICM beyond the initial six months of operation.
NICM would like to sincerely thank Shelley Evans for her tireless work as NICM's Interim CEO. Shelley has helped lay a strong foundation for NICM and we wish her well in her future endeavours. A big thank you also to Ros Priest and Phillip Cheras for the important roles they played in the interim phase of NICM.
